Memory Box Workshop with Patricia Scialo & "Morning Tea" at Jolie Tea Company

Sunday May 4, 10:00am-12:00pm
Jolie Tea Company, Beverly
192 Cabot Street

Join Patricia in creating a shadow box artwork using your collections, family heirlooms, photographs and memorabilia. As a group we will share stories relating to our keepsakes and talk about designing an artwork for display.

Gather collections for your shadow box such as: photographs, fabric, lace, buttons, sea glass, stones, shells, coins, pressed flowers, botanicals, art paper, print items.

All items should fit in a small 8”X8” box. Photographs should not be larger than 3’X5” (you can scan larger photographs and reduce the size).

This project will give you the opportunity to take collections that have been put aside and create a beautiful artwork for display that will intrigue friends and family.

Patricia will guide you through elements of composition and design and show examples of her own shadow boxes on display.

She will also talk about her mural “Once Upon A Thyme” and her current exhibition at Jolie titled:“Still Life in Blue”.

Students should bring items to create your shadow box suggested above and one pair of scissors.

"A Morning Tea" of scones and pastry will be served during this workshop at Jolie Tea Company.
